TV Eye Land Nostalgia
"Wow, I saw them (Bimbo Shrineheads) like a million years ago at Worcester Artists Group: Dawn sang with her head in a tv set. She looked like a raccoon, she had so much eyeliner on! lol."

Music From The Populous Pudding Vault
The Populous Pudding was an arts collective that put on shows in an old Willimantic fur vault back in 1988 and ‘89. You can read what Charlie Krich has written about the organization here. Over on the Withdrawn Radio page, I’ve posted recordings of a few of the musicians that passed through that fire trap. Included among the Pudding recordings are four songs from a 1989 Deadbeats gig that dawn sat in on.

That alley should look familiar to people that were lucky enough to have been around during the Populous Pudding’s short life. Click here to listen to a 1988 Pudding recording of dawn playing “Chasin’ Time”. The out of time rumbling is my shaky percussion, which dawn had a hard time hearing.

Shrinnirs added to June 10, 2006 benefit for Dave Bates
My sister’s partner Dave is a hardworking roofer (their primary breadwinner) and a father of three who fell 25 feet off a roof he was working on and broke several bones including his back. He and my sister have no health insurance and live paycheck to paycheck as it is. He will be unable to work for a very long time (will never be able to roof again) and has a very long and grueling road to recovery. They need money for his medications, medical needs, follow-up care, etc…
My sister and some friends are putting together a benefit concert on Saturday, June 10 from 1:00-9:00 pm in East Hartford, Connecticut at the Knights of Columbus. I told them that we would resurrect ourselves and play. We are tentatively scheduled to play at 5 o’clock. They are billing it as “Norm Stock"--which I had no idea and had to ask what the hell does that mean. Well, here’s the scoop, Dave’s friends gave him the nickname “Norm” because Dave’s full name is David Bates and the guy in Psycho was Norman Bates, thus they started calling Dave---Norm (go figure). So I got that, but had to ask what about the “stock"-what’s up with that? He got that from the 60’s concert “Woodstock”; so “Norm” plus “Stock” = “Norm Stock”. You’ve got to remember that he came up with this name and is being heavily medicated with morphine and stuff so…
They are going to have all kinds and varieties of local musicians, an outdoor barbecue and buffet, excellent raffle items, door-prizes, and fun activities for kids and families. Spread the word, please!
For anyone wondering what we used to sound like when we were regulars on the bingo hall circuit, here is a mp3 of a couple of songs recorded live at the Norwich VFW fourteen years ago.
